Xth Tastes of Nuclear Physics

(30 Nov – 4 Dec)

Program and Timetable

Ultimately, the TASTES comes this year with a new approach that transcends our difficult times to bring to you exciting new Physics! This time we’re virtually bringing the Tastes and the latest nuclear physics and astrophysics research from world-class speakers to your very home via ZOOM. From Australia, through Asia, Europe and Africa to the American Pacific Coast. Click here for more information, including the Poster and short and detailed (including Book of Abstracts) Program of the X Tastes of Nuclear Physics. Do not hesitate to email us with any queries @ TastesNP@uwc.ac.za. In order to help us setting up the logistics and monitoring the success of the event, we would kindly request that you register in advance @:

Be there! Our objectives are always the same: enthusing our students towards their highest education and Physics achievements by attracting world-class speakers to instruct them on timely topics in Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Astrophysics and enlighten them on new research possibilities and supporting state-of-the-art facilities. Interactive talks by leading national and international speakers will be given online through ZOOM. All students are encouraged to discuss Physics and engage with the experts at any time throughout the Tastes, specially during the assigned Coffee Breaks.

Usual Tastes “terms and conditions” apply:
All students and staff members from any institution are welcome.
No registration and no fees are required.

New: Special Events will be announced during the Tastes of Nuclear Physics and will be occurring during the Special Coffee Breaks. Among others, we shall celebrate the MANuS/MatSci Honours/MSc programme at UWC, the continuous participation of John Wood during the last 10 years and the 75th anniversary of a paper that changed nuclear physics!

Talks and related material will be posted @ Talks (Click here). Upon permission of the Speakers, Videos of the Talks will also be posted in YouTube.

Unconditional support from our sponsors throughout these 10 years must be acknowledged as well as relevant suggestions from our Physics colleagues, tireless efforts from the staff at Physics & Astronomy, Media, International and ICS Departments at UWC, and crucial funding from our Sponsors: UWC, UniZulu, Stellenbosch, UCT, iThemba LABS, NRF/DSI, SA-CERN Collaboration, XIA Electronics, Mesytec, Micron Semiconductors, Bio-Teknik, the University of York and the STFC Council in the UK. Our sincere appreciation to everyone for making this superior opportunity for students and researchers worldwide possible!

Let’s do Physics!
